The NYSE Could Come Under Attack by 'Anonymous'
The hacker activist group which goes by the name of “Anonymous” is expected to show their support for the “Occupy Wall Street” protest by "erasing the New York Stock Exchange from the internet" on October 10th.
The group posted a video on both YouTube and Twitter suggesting there will be consequences as a result of the arrests made on Wall Street recently. The message was not too specific, but did call out the NYSE.
The Department of Homeland Security recently sent out a warning related to such cyber attacks following the group's release of two new pieces of software called #RefRef and Apache Killer. The programs were developed to assist other hackers and group members with hacking.
The Department of Homeland Security also pointed out Anonymous has been attempting to recruit employees within Wall Street to help with their attacks.
