Tesla (Nasdaq: TSLA) and Huawei have collaborated on mobile app, which would be used to control the Model S and other upcoming Tesla cars.
According to Huawei spokesperson Yi Linna, the Android-based app will allow Tesla owners to perform functions like unlocking and starting their vehicles, setting the air conditioner, and turning on/off lights, and other functions.
The app will be compatible with the Huawei Honor 6 smartphone. It will also work over any 4G connection.
Yi also said it was the first Android app for Tesla, though a quick Google search made us question that statement.
Shares of Tesla are indicated for a higher open Friday.
