Tesla (TSLA) Plans Earlier Powerwall Launch in Australia

Tesla (Nasdaq: TSLA) is aiming to make Australia one of its top markets for the Powerwall residential battery system.

According to Australia's New Economy, deliveries of the Powerwall will begin in 2015 alongside North America. Prior predictions were looking for a 2016 launch of the system.

Tesla notes that Australia is a key market for its battery offerings due to high energy costs, solid solar resources, and structure of its tariffs.
