Tesla (NASDAQ: TSLA) released a new version of its Model S sedan, which also comes with a lower price tag.
Electrek.co pointed out changes to the Model S Design Studio this morning.
The Model S now has a 60-kWh battery option, which starts off at $66,000, before tax credits, fees, etc. The estimated EPA range for the new model is 210 miles on a single charge.
There's also a 75-kWh upgrade available for $8,500 which will bring that range up to 249 miles, meaning that the 75-kWh battery is already in there, but with limited accessibility. Also, the $8,500 price applies if the option is selected at the time of configuration. Otherwise, it will be an additional $9,000 for an aftermarket upgrade.
Shares of Tesla are indicated for a lower open Thursday.
