According the the research firm iSuppli, owned by IHS (NYSE: IHS), Apple's (Nasdaq: AAPL) iPad competitors will cause global display disruptions as consumers rush to pick up their own version of the portable tablet computer. The results will have panel makers resigning to shortages and inventory surpluses as they scramble to meet consumer demand.
Global tablet sales are expected to triple in 2011, from 17.1 million units in 2010 to 57.6 million units.
