Surprise Mr. President - You Won the Nobel Peace Prize!
Maybe illustrating that there were no real good people in 2009, President Barack Obama won the Nobel Peace Prize this year. No one predicting the recipient of the award expected Obama to win.
The Nobel committee cited Obama's "vision and work toward a world without atomic weapons." and said he has "created a new climate in international politics."
Obama is the third sitting U.S. President to receive the award. Theodore Roosevelt won in 1906 and Woodrow Wilson won in 1919. Jimmy Carter won in 2002, years after his presidency. In addition Vice President Al Gore won in 2007.
Obama said he was humbled by the news and will make a statement later today.
