Summary of Dallas Fed President Fisher's Comments on the U.S. Economy

Presenting at a planned Dallas Fed meeting today, Dallas Federal Reserve President Richard Fisher made comments on the current status of the U.S. economy and its economic policies. Here are some interesting points he made during a Q&A session:
  • the economy will continue to suffer a "bout of anemia"
  • the housing crisis may not be over yet
  • he is not against cutting rates
  • efficiency of rate cuts is questionable
  • believes a weak period will be longer than expected.
