Successful Tech Banker, Frank Quattrone Launches Qatalyst Group

March 18, 2008 4:57 PM EDT
If you ever traded tech during the high-flying 90s, then you know Frank Quattrone of Credit Suisse. He did the biggest deals and one of the ways he earned business was by allocating IPO shares to potential clients.
Qauttrone brought companies like Apple (Nasdaq: AAPL) and Cisco (Nasdaq: CSCO) public.

Frank Quattrone just launched Qatalyst Group, a new tech boutique firm with some former colleagues. Qatalyst is currently operating as a division of JMP Securities (NYSE: JMP) so that he can start working with clients before he receives the necessary approvals (ie. broker-dealer, etc). [JT]

JMP Group closed up 18% today.
