StreetInsider.com Reporting From Value Investing Congress Today

October 6, 2008 9:40 AM EDT
Stay tuned to StreetInsider.com today as it reports live from the Value Investing Congress. Last year, presenters at the Value Investing Congress made some very prescient calls. For example, Greenlight's David Einhorn gave a speech on why he did not like Lehman Brothers (NYSE: LEH) and was short the stock. At the time, Lehman was trading in the 60s and you now know the rest of the story.

Additionally, Pershing Square's Bill Ackman told Value Investing Congress members on why MBIA (NYSE: MBI) was a company that was headed for trouble. Sure enough Ackman called that one right and his call made a lot of money for Congress members and StreetInsider.com subscribers.

I expect this year not to disappoint and some brilliant calls are likely to be made over the next 48 hours.

Some of today's top speakers include Pershing's Bill Ackman and Icahn Enterprises's Carl Icahn. This should make for an exciting day.
