Shares of Sierra Wireless Inc. (NASDAQ: SWIR) are up 8 percent to $14.44 in midday market movement on Monday after a positive article from Barron's points to the company benefiting from 4G networks being pushed out to keep up with consumer demand.
The British Columbia-based company sells wireless technology for mobile computing in devices like laptops, tablet computers and e-readers. The company also provides machine-to-machine connectivity products that will benefit from the expansion of 4G.
The adaptation of 4G wireless networks is coming from Verizon Communications Inc. (NYSE: VZ) and AT&T Tin (NYSE: T) to compete with Sprint Nextel Corp. (NYSE: S).
