Apple, Inc. (NASDAQ: AAPL) is 0.5% higher today, but investors may be overlooking the 18% crash in major supplier Cirrus Logic Inc. (NASDAQ: CRUS) and the reason behind that crash.
Cirrus Logic, which gets of its 62% of its revenue from Apple, disclosed some troubling items in a Barclays Investors Presentation Thursday. The company sees increased pricing pressure in the smartphone market with gross margins expected to be in the mid-40s. They also noted revenue for the fiscal year will likely be negatively impacted by an expected decline in ASPs.
Other Apple suppliers to watch on the news include: Skyworks Solutions Inc. (NASDAQ: SWKS), TriQuint Semiconductor, Inc. (NASDAQ: TQNT), RF Micro Devices Inc. (NASDAQ: RFMD), OmniVision Technologies, Inc. (NASDAQ: OVTI).
