Sears (SHLD) Could Move After Earnings Report

November 27, 2007 10:00 AM EST
Sears Holdings (Nasdaq: SHLD) has been in the news the past two days because it raised its offer to buy Restoration Hardware (Nasdaq: RSTO) to $6.75 a share, above the current buyout offer. Restoration Hardware appeals to a higher-end customer and maybe Eddie Lampert is interested in that type of customer. But, I think the market over-reacted yesterday to this small attempted acquisition.

Sears reports earnings this Thursday and expectations are are very, very low. If the company's results show any glimmer of hope, then SHLD could enjoy a nice move up on the news.
