There are some rumors going around that influential bank analyst Meredith Whitney made positive comments on Goldman Sachs Group Inc. (NYSE: GS) about them dropping the bank charter. We have not seen any formal notes from her but shares are up about 0.8% currently.

Currently Meredith Whitney has a Neutral rating on Goldman Sachs, but with the recent drop in the stock it may be prudent for her to again go against the grain and upgrade soon. She nailed the top with here downgrade from Buy to Neutral.
