Rumor Mill Churns Out Potential Amazon (AMZN) Android-Focused Gaming Console

More good news for Google (Nasdaq: GOOG)!

Reports out late Thursday speculated over the possibility of Amazon (Nasdaq: AMZN) creating its own branded gaming console which would run Android-based games. CNET cites Game Informer on the data.

Sources said that the console could be out before the end of 2013 and will most likely be available by Black Friday.

Nothing has been confirmed by the company and Amazon is just as likely to release smartphone or TV set-top box as it is a gaming console. Recent reports have Amazon hiring game developers for its gaming library, but that could have a wide variety of implications.

But, more Android games/consoles is good for Google, which generally doesn't seek to make money on hardware so much as gathering more information from users to sell more ads.

Shares of Amazon and Google are lower early.
