Romney Vows to Kill Big Bird
One interesting thing from last night's presidential debate in Denver was Republican nominee Mitt Romney's comments that PBS, including its famed Sesame Street program, is on the chopping block if he is elected President.
"I'm sorry Jim. I'm gonna stop the subsidy to PBS. I'm gonna stop other things," Romney said. "I like PBS, I like Big Bird, I actually like you too."
Romeny's smell test: If we can only pay for it through borrowing money from China it will be cut.
"I'm not going to keep on spending money on things to borrow money from China to pay for it," Romney said.
Luckily for kids everywhere, Sesame Street receives very little funding from PBS. Instead they raise funds through philanthropic efforts, corporate sponsorships and licensing the brand, among other things.
