Rockwell Automation (ROK) Spokesman Declines To Comments on Takeover Speculation

According to reports from Dow Jones News, a Rockwell Automation Inc. (NYSE: ROK) spokesman declined to comment on earlier noted speculation the company received a takeover offer.
Shares of Rockwell have risen 11% today on the takeover talk. In addition, share volume and option volume have been heavy on the noise.
Rockwell spokesman John Bernaden told Dow Jones News, "We don't comment on rumors, especially regarding the potential actions or intent of other companies. We believe the highest value for Rockwell Automation shareholders will be realized by Rockwell Automation remaining an independent company and executing our growth and performance strategy."
