Revamped Yahoo! (YHOO) Mail Experiencing Glitches for Some

October 11, 2013 2:57 PM EDT
Yahoo! (Nasdaq: YHOO) recently revamped its email service to be more dynamic (ala - Gmail), but this is one small glitch: users are having trouble forwarding messages.

TechCrunch reported that Yahoo! Mail has been forwarding users' emails to alternate, external email addresses. Like other email platforms, Yahoo! allowed users to setup a second address, which would allow users to send Yahoo! Mail elsewhere via an auto-forwarding feature. That feature can be switched off, but the recent upgrade automatically turned it on for some.

The negative implications for this might be a breach of privacy, should a users' email be forwarded to an old email address that is now being used by someone else.

Others may simply lose mail if its forwarded to an account they have no access to or can't get access to.

Yahoo! has address some concerns on Twitter, but a broader statement hasn't been made yet. Shares of Yahoo! are up 0.7 percent.
