Research In Motion (RIMM) Continues To Innovate And Balsille Encounters iPhones
Research In Motion's (Nasdaq: RIMM) CEO, Jim Balsille, spoke earlier today at The National Summit about innovation. After Jim finished speaking in front of the standing room only crowd, StreetInsider spent some time talking with Jim Balsille.
Balsille told us that the new product introductions may slow from what seemed like a new, revolutionary Blackberry introduced every month, but he did say RIM will continue to innovate to appeal to customer demand.
Later, Research In Motion's Balsille added that it is 100% focused on maintaining its market share in the enterprise market. He said competition from Apple (Nasdaq: AAPL) will only make Research In Motion work harder to maintain its client base. Additionally, RIM will launch new products as needed in order to one up its new competition.
Funny Story: As RIMM's Jim Balsille was leaving the room where he gave his speech, several people at the Summit asked him to take a photo with them, but to Balsille's dismay, they used Apple (Nasdaq: AAPL) iPhones to snap the photo. These appeared to be business users that were now using iPhones. Balsille took the photos, but was obviously disappointed that he had to wait for iPhones to boot up and take his photo with his adoring fans.
