Prudential Financial (PRU) Surges 20% On Strong Earnings

Earlier today, Prudential Financial, Inc. (NYSE: PRU) rose past $40 a share, a level its stock has not seen since October 2008. Prudential Financial has risen over 300% since March and 22% today to trade around the $43 level.

Yesterday, Prudential reported Q1 earnings of $1.05, 22 cents above the consensus view of $0.83. PRU's revenue for the quarter was $8 billion, versus the consensus of $6.58 billion.
