Production on Apple's (AAPL) 'iTV' Begins; Should Launch mid-FY12

Apple (Nasdaq: AAPL) should have it's long-rumored television debuting on schedule, reports have Tuesday.
According to Digitimes, Apple suppliers should start rolling out production for "iTV" parts in the first-quarter of 2012, in preparation for the launch of the device in the second- or third-quarter next year.
Previous reports have Samsung starting production on chips for the iTVs last November, while Sharp begun manufacturing displays at about the same time. Display sizes will be be between 32- and 37-inches, according to the sources.
Additionally, some have said Apple may continue to launch new set-top-box (STB) Apple TV units, noting that prices for current Apple TV STB prices listed on Amazon.com (Nasdaq: AMZN) have dropped by 9 percent recently.
Apple stock is just about flat early Tuesday.
