Patriots Win Their 3rd Super Bowl in 4 Years
AFC team the New England Patriots won their 3rd Super Bowl in 4 years, topping the Philadelphia Eagles 24-21. According to Wall Street Folk Lore, if an AFC team wins the big game the equity markets will have a bad year. The theory has an impressive track record, being right 30 out of 38 times since the first Super Bowl in 1967.
But the theory didn't hold true last year when the Pats won their 2nd title. We are looking for a re-write of the theory. How about - "If an NFC team (or the Patriots) win the Super Bowl the markets are headed higher!"
