It's been all but officially affirmed that panel makers are shipping panels for the new Apple (Nasdaq: AAPL) iPad tablet.

Reports Friday suggest makers LG Display (NYSE: LPL), Samsung, and Sharp having shipped about 1 million panels for the new device bank in October, and shipments are expected to ramp to about 2 million in November.

Touch module makers TPK Holding and Wintek will begin shipping their offerings in mid-November to December. Shipments from TPK and Wintek will top 1 million units per month, sources said.

Speculation is that contract maker Foxconn will start assembling the new devices in January 2012.

Apple may also be developing a new 7.85-inch panel, with AU Optronics (NYSE: AUO) and LG Display (NYSE: LPL) already sending samples to Apple. There is, however, no confirmation on whether Apple might move forward in development of a smaller iPad has been made or speculated on.
