The WSJ reporting Wednesday the final report from the Bureau of Ocean Energy Management and the U.S. Coast Guard on the BP (NYSE: BP) oil spill may be released as soon as September 15th, 2011.

These results have been largely anticipated by investors looking to see what legal ramifications the company and partners at that time will face.

BP, Anadarko Petroleum (NYSE: APC), Transocean (NYSE: RIG), and Mitsui Co. have all already been sued over the matter but more legal fines and regulations may still come about from the ruling. The company’s are all hoping the decision will be pointed at one company, while at the same time praying that finger isn’t pointed at them.

With this being the largest oil spill in U.S. history -- in a area which had finally begun to recover from Hurricane Katrina -- each company has been busy over the last year pointing fingers at each other. Receiving direct blame for the spill will hurt a company dramatically in the public eye and in the pocket.
