If you live in Brooklyn, get ready for a little more BlackBerry (Nasdaq: BBRY).
According to the NY Post, Waterloo, Ontario-based BlackBerry (Nasdaq: BBRY) and the NBA franchise Brooklyn Nets have inked a two-season marketing deal. Though the deal is valued somewhere between $1 million and $5 million, it means greater exposure for BlackBerry at the Barclays Center, home of the Nets.
The Post notes that BlackBerry and its Z10 smartphone will get "prominent" ad placement throughout the arena, plus an experimental area for devices. Mike Zavodsky, the Nets vice president of new corporate marketing, said BlackBerry is going for "brand domination."
The story is fitting: the Nets have rebounded from a recent slump to become one of the better teams in the league, while BlackBerry hopes to mount its own rebound with BB10.
Shares of BlackBerry are up 0.4 percent.
