Nokia Corp. (NYSE: NOK) shares are continuing higher Monday heading into Microsoft's (Nasdaq: MSFT) surprise announcement, which is expected to happen at 12pm PDT (3pm EDT).
Not much is known about what will happen at this event, through some speculate it will have something to do with the next version of Microsoft Office.
Volatility on Nokia is up 11 percent in midday trading and at 172 percent of its trailing annual average. Implied volatility has been moving higher recently as Nokia shares have continued to slide on announcements of job cuts and reduced expectations.
Shares are up about 1.1 percent, having been up as much as 2.2 percent on the session.
