Maybe Nokia (NYSE: NOK) isn't faring so bad in its home country after all?

According to market researcher Marketvision and pointed out by WMPoweruser.com, the smartphone market is dividend nearly equally into three operating systems -- Google (Nasdaq: GOOG) Android, Apple (Nasdaq: AAPL) iOS, and Microsoft (Nasdaq: MSFT) Windows Phone 8.

One key element that Marketvision points out is that new phone sales favor Windows Phone, which accounts for 35 percent of the total. Android makes up 33 percent and iOS takes 30 percent of new activations.

Looking to the enterprise segment, Marketvision said that Windows Phone accounts for about 50 percent of business sales. New, lower-priced handsets are expected to only strengthen enterprise sales.

One analyst with Marketvision stated, "Finnish smartphone platforms in the market differs from other markets. most other countries, the Android platform dominates the smartphone market, while in Finland the Windows Phone is taking a strong foothold due to the Nokia Lumia family."

Microsoft is indicated higher Friday, while Nokia is still on the low-side of trading.
