New Twitter (TWTR) User Interface Change Irks Some Users

People generally dislike change. For a good example of that, look at any post made to Facebook (Nasdaq: FB) after Facebook tweaks its user interface. Generally, the response is negative.

Twitter (NYSE: TWTR) has decided to embrace this emotion among its users. Last week, the company rolled out a new way to view tweets. For Twitter users on the web, each tweet that is clicked on now emerges in a pop-up window separate from the main news feed.

The Next Web pointed out that this change is causing some distress to some of its users.

Many are complaining that the pop-up tweets make things more challenging to read, or that it takes too long to view replies.

The prior UI for Twitter on the web was simply that posts would expand, but remain inline with the user's time line. The new change might be a bit disorienting for some.

Shares of Twitter are lower early Monday.
