New Apple (AAPL) Store to Open in 4 Days!

December 6, 2011 7:51 AM EST
Apple (Nasdaq: AAPL) affirmed that it's Grand Central terminal store will be opening on Friday December 9th at the crack of dawn.

Just kidding. It's not going to open until 10am, New York time.

BoyGeniusReport (BGR) notes that the store will not be open 24-hours like Apple's location on 5th Avenue. It will close at 9pm Monday through Friday, 7pm on Saturdays, and 6pm on Sundays (all New York time, obviously). So those of you looking forward to a romantic date surrounded by iPods, wood, and strangers...plan accordingly.

Ahead of the opening, Apple came under scrutiny from the Metro Transportation Authority (MTA) and NY Comptroller over terms of its lease for the prime spot. Unlike other retailers in the location, Apple is not required to make revenue-sharing payments with the agency landlord, and it's rent of $800,000 (in the first year, anyway) is said to be far below others in the terminal.

In terms of size, the location will be 23,000-square-feet, which some claim is the largest Apple store, but that has not been confirmed by official sources yet.
