Is Netflix (Nasdaq: NFLX) poised for a Hurricane Sandy-related bounce when trading in U.S. markets resumes on Wednesday? Maybe.
With millions upon millions of folks without power and much of the Eastern U.S. suffering from torrential downpours and colder weather, Netflix said viewership was up about 20 percent on Monday and over 100 percent in certain areas like Washington D.C. and Philadelphia.
The company also noted that much of what was watched was more kid-related content.
Possible upside might include more subs over the next few days, while AllThingsD hinted that Netflix could do well to add a video-on-demand feature. On that note, Coinstar (Nasdaq: CSTR) might also get a little boost tomorrow from hordes renting videos to watch while things around them "dry out" over the next few days.
