Netflix (Nasdaq: NFLX) may be getting a sweet new crime show...

Analysts at Deutsche Bank noted CBS (NYSE: CBS) acted earlier than its peers in announcing next season's pick-ups. Importantly, key CSI spinoff show CSI: NY did not get picked up and they believe it will be unlikely be renewed for another season. This makes it a prime candidate to be "put" to Netflix, the firm notes. This is because "the show is very expensive (est $4m per episode), its ratings are weak at a 1.5 season to date and with 180 episodes by season end, a Netflix sale could be worth $40m or so."

The firm notes that in the Netflix deal signed last February, CBS has the ability to deliver any pre-determined series to Netflix when it enters the library after being cancelled.

Comedy Rules of Engagement was not picked up and could also be a candidate for a put to Netflix, the firm notes.
