Netflix (NFLX) Adds $1/Month to Subscription Price for New Members

Netflix, Inc. (NASDAQ: NFLX) is increasing its monthly price by $1.

According to the following image (which we assume was emailed to the customer), Netflix is going to charge new subs $8.99 per month, up from the normal $7.99 per month price. The email didn't specify how long current members would be able to enjoy the $7.99 per month price, but the company said it would be a generous time period with its latest quarterly report.

Shares of Netflix are up in early trading Friday.
