NYC Education Dept. Halts $30M e-Book Initiative with Amazon.com (AMZN)

New York is shelving plans which would have called for Amazon (Nasdaq: AMZN) to supply the city's public schools with electronic books.
According to the NY Daily News, the contract was valued at about $30 million.
Advocates against the imitative said it would have caused visually impaired children to have trouble accessing the design.
One rep for New York's education said the agency is working with Amazon on a new format whichwill be accessible to all students.
Shares of Amazon are positive in early trading Wednesday morning.
