Tesla (Nasdaq: TSLA) CEO Elon Musk and NVIDIA (Nasdaq: NVDA) Chief Jen-Hsun Huang may strike up a conversation about smart automobile technology at the upcoming GPU Technology Conference (GTC) in a few weeks.
Digitimes said NVIDIA has been pushing into the segment over the last few years and believes its recently-announced Tegra X1 chip will be a good fit for the industry.
Along with the chip, NVIDIA currently offers Drive PX and Drive CX automobile platform design toolkits. Digital dashboards can be made with Drive CX, while auto drive functions can be designed with Drive PX.
NVIDIA already supplies chips for Audi, Volkswagen, Skoda, and some Honda models.
