N.Y. Gov. Cuomo Pushing for 24% Minimum Wage Increase
N.Y. Governor Andrew Cuomo is said to be pushing for a raise in the state's minimum wage rate.
Citing people familiar with the situation, Bloomberg said that Cuomo would like the rate to hit $9 per hour, from the current rate of $7.25 per hour. The plan would have a three-year phase-in deal, sources said.
The NY Daily News said that the deal would include tax cuts to small business and individuals, while extending a surcharge to wealthier households.
