Motorola's (GOOG) Move to Manufacture in U.S. Could Prove Profitable

May 30, 2013 12:26 PM EDT
As announced earlier, Google's (Nasdaq: GOOG) Motorola is planning to make its Moto X handset in the U.S.

The move might be a successful one for Motorola, given positive responses to a poll question today. On the front page of Yahoo! Finance, the question was posed: "Motorola plans to make a smartphone in the U.S. Are you more inclined to buy products made in America?"

An overwhelming number of responses (19,829 votes, or 69 percent of the total) chose "Yes." In second was the answer "Makes no difference to me" with 22 percent of votes. "No" was last with just 9 percent.

Shares of Google are up 0.7 percent on the session.
