Motorola Mobility (NYSE: MMI) released the Xoom tablet a couple of weeks ago, the first to run on Google Inc.'s (NASDAQ: GOOG) Android 3.0 "Honeycomb," and one analyst says that the sales are "very weak."

Global Equities Research analyst Trip Chowdhry is insisting that there is a problem with "poor software quality" and poor battery life.

“Google Honeycomb is suffering from frequent application freezes and crashes,” Chowdhry said. "The battery life is very inconsistent – lasts sometimes for 2 hours, and sometimes for 6 hours. The battery standby life is mere 10–12 hours vs. 30 days on Apple iPad."

The analyst states that the UI is so confusing that the Xoom will likely be relegated strictly to the tech savvy community.

Chowdhry defends a Buy rating on Google, as Honeycomb is not important to Google's revenue.
