Morgan Keegan analyst Travis McCourt said Friday that the sales for Motorola Mobility's (NYSE: MMI) Xoom tablet and BlackBerrys from Research in Motion (NASDAQ: RIMM) are not as weak as some media reports have claimed.

The analyst said that the Xoom tablet is actually doing just fine, with checks at Verizon (NYSE: VZ) stores revealing each selling about 2 per day. This pace would be enough for The Xoom to meet McCourt's estimate of 300,000 units this quarter.

McCourt also sees things stable for RIM despite competitive releases at AT&T Inc. (NYSE: T) and Verizon. He notes that the BlackBerry Style is a surprise seller at Sprint Nextel (NYSE: S).

“There appears to have been no dramatic change in BlackBerry sell-through at AT&T or Verizon, although we suspect sell-through is down modestly with the recent competitive launches."

Morgan Keegan reiterated an Outperform rating on RIM and a Market Perform rating on Motorola.
