Apple's (Nasdaq: AAPL) iTV is taking even more shape with new detail coming from one of the most reliable sources who doesn't directly work for the company.
According to reports out Friday from China Daily, Foxconn CEO Terry Gou alluded to the new iTV. Gou said the unit would have aluminum construction, Siri, and FaceTime calling. Gou noted preparations have only begun and no development or manufacturing is underway.
Foxconn -- a noted OEM for Apple -- will be in a 50-50 joint venture with Japan's Sharp for the production of iTV. Foxconn recently acquired a 10 percent stake in Sharp last March for $808 million. Notably, Sharp has been a panel supplier for Apple in the past.
Apple shares are down over 1 percent in early trading Friday.
