Tonight at the opening keynote speech of CES Microsoft Corp. (NASDAQ: MSFT) will be unveil his company's own version of a multimedia PC tablet style device.
The device has been rumored at CES to be produced by Hewlett-Packard Co. (NYSE: HPQ) and will be shown off for the first time tonight.
This move is likely in response to the overwhelming success of e-reader type devices like the Kindle from Amazon.com Inc. (NASDAQ: AMZN) and the buzz around the pending announcement of Apple Inc.’s (NASDAQ: AAPL) tablet later this month.
The rumored device will apparently have two 7-inch multi-touch screens designed for writing with a stylus. The device is also rumored to have a camera on its backside that will charge through an internal inductive device.
More information and a hands-on review off this new machine will be available following the keynote speech from Ballmer tonight at 6pm.
Gizmodo posted pictures and slides of the expected device today, called Courier.
