Microsoft's (Nasdaq: MSFT) Windows Phone store has hit and (presumably) surpassed the 3000,000 app milestone.
According to a Microsoft spokesperson, commenting to TheNextWeb: We have more than 300,000 Windows Phone apps today and the Windows Phone Store continues to grow ... In the past year alone the Windows and Windows Phone app catalog has grown 94percent, while the number of active developers has grown by 50 percent.
Microsoft's WP app store was at 100,000 in June 2012 and 200,000 in December 2013, meaning the current pace of app development is accelerating. Pretty impressive for a mobile platform with around 4 percent of U.S. market share.
