Microsoft (MSFT) Windows 8 License Sales Start Mimicking Predecessor

Microsoft (Nasdaq: MSFT) is poised for a stronger open today amid new Windows 8 data being made available.
According to a post on the Official Microsoft Blog, CFO Tami Reller said that 60 million Windows 8 licenses have been sold since launch. The number is inclusive of upgrades and OEM sales.
Reller noted that the number was akin with the trajectory experienced for Windows 7.
Reller also commented, "We have seen a significant increase in the number of Windows 8 certified systems since general availability at the end of October. There are now more than 1,700 certified systems for Windows 8 and Windows RT."
Shares of Microsoft are up about 0.3 percent ahead of the bell Wednesday.
