Microsoft (Nasdaq: MSFT) ran a pretty decent holiday deal which saw the Xbox One gaming console sell at a discount from its original $399 price tag. While that deal may have ended, the company might be introducing a new discount to entice gamers to purchase the system.
According to the WSJ, Microsoft is looking to cut the price of the Xbox One by $50 in the U.S. The brings the price of the console to $349, which is in-line with Sony's (NYSE: SNE) discount to its Playstation 4 unit during the holiday season.
Notably, the price compares with the $499 launch price of the Xbox One back in late 2013, though the original system was packaged with the Kinect sensor.
Shares of Microsoft are lower in early trading Friday.
