Microsoft (MSFT) Trounced Apple, Samsung in Notable Consumer Survey (AAPL)

January 7, 2014 2:23 PM EST
Forrester Research published a news bit on Monday, which had Microsoft (Nasdaq: MSFT) trumping Apple (Nasdaq: AAPL) and Samsung in TRUE brand rankings. (TRUE in an acronym for trusted, remarkable, unmistakable and essential.)

Forrester conducted consumer Technographics research with 4,551 US online adults in August 2013 for the data. The firm also noted that the framework had two main components: 1) An overall TRUE Brand Compass ranking gives a snapshot of a brand’s resonance – the emotional connection a customer has with a brand; and 2) The TRUE brand compass scorecard reveals a brand’s progress along each of the four TRUE dimensions.

In addition to getting a higher TRUE score, Microsoft also achieved trailblazer status, which indicates that Microsoft is at the forefront of brand building with a unique and distinct brand identity that sets it apart from other brands.

Microsoft's edge was becoming more trusted in the consumer electronics crowd across generations, while Apple and Samsung have been working to win Millennial dollars.

Shares of Microsoft are up about 0.5 percent.
