June 30, 2014 9:25 AM EDT

More details have recently appeared about Microsoft's (Nasdaq: MSFT) about speculated smartwatch and some of its features.

The Microsoft smartwatch will be cross-platform compatible, as previously speculated.

The devices display will be inside the wrist, with sources saying that it feels more natural to look at the device that way.

Design will be more like the Nike (NYSE: NKE) Fuelband versus smartwatches that have a larger display.

There will be about 11 sensors in the device, which might track everything from acceleration to heart rate.

Release of the Microsoft smartwatch is expected to happen in October, which is a little later than previously thought.

Shares of Microsoft are down early Monday.
