Microsoft (Nasdaq: MSFT) sent out invitations to its Surface event today.
The invitations place the date for debut of the Surface 2 on September 23rd in New York City.
Many expect the Surface 2 and Surface Pro 2 not to be a radical departure from the original tablets, though its expected that a battery-equipped typing pad will be sold as an accessory to extend usability of the device.
Microsoft is up 1.4 percent Monday.
