Microsoft (Nasdq: MSFT) is looking for more and more people to convert home computers to Windows 10, but the company also wants strong adoption in the corporate environment.
ZDNet, noting a recent survey fromSpiceworks, highlighted plans for companies to convert to Windows 10 following its launch last summer. About 40 percent said they would within one year of the platform's release, though the firm believes that trend could be much higher.
In addition, North American penetration is much higher at 12 percent, versus 10.6 percent for EMEA, 9.4 percent in LatAm, and 8.5 percent in APAC.
Larger companies are also showing a higher penetration rate, with around 23 percent of companies with 500 employees or more on the operating system.

Software and manufacturing are the two sectors with the highest conversion rates at this point.

Shares of Microsoft are now positive after having been lower in early trading.
