According to reports out Thursday, French officials have conducted a search of Microsoft Corp. (Nasdaq: MSFT) offices in Paris.

The offices, in Issy-les-Moulineaux, were entered by French tax services reps as well as police.

One spokesperson for Microsoft in France, as quoted by Dow Jones, said the operation was in the framework of a standard tax audit.
