Microsoft (MSFT) Launches Surface Pro Tablet in China

Microsoft (Nasdaq: MSFT) is said to have launched its Surface Pro tablet in China on April 2nd.
According to Digitimes, citing Chinese news source tech.163.com, the Surface Pro came preinstalled with Chinese-language versions of Office 2013 and Windows 8. Retail prices should run from 6,588 yuan to 7,388 yuan for 64- and 128-gigabyte models, respectively. That translates to about $1,060 and $1,191.
The Touch Cover will be selling for 908 yuan with the Type Cover at 988 yuan ($146 and $159, respectively).
Data from IDC points to 30,000 shipments of Microsoft's Surface RT tablet during the fourth quarter. The Surface RT launched in China during October 2012.
Shares of Microsoft are modestly higher Wednesday morning.
