Microsoft (Nasdaq: MSFT) posted the following to its blog on Tuesday:

The average cost for a single data breach is $3.5 million. More than 75 percent of these network intrusions can be traced back to compromised credentials.

Microsoft is rolling out a number of enhancements to help IT enable rapid innovations while protecting valuable corporate data and assets.

These tools include Windows Defender Advanced Threat Protection, which provides a new post-breach layer of protection to Windows 10 security. Another tool, Azure Active Directory, analyzes the signal from over 14 billion logins to help identify 30,000 potentially compromised users per day. And Microsoft Advanced Threat Analytics service (ATA) brings Azure Active Directory-style security monitoring and anomaly detection on premise.
