Microsoft (MSFT) Bolsters Cloud CRM with Latest Purchase

January 7, 2014 6:52 AM EST
Microsoft (Nasdaq: MSFT) made another cloud acquisition recently.

TechCrunch said on Monday that Microsoft has acquired Parature, which provides cloud-based customer services software. The purchase price was said to be about $100 million, though it hasn't been officially confirmed.

Parature will integrate with Microsoft Dynamics, making it even more of a formidable competitor to salesforce.com (NYSE: CRM). It will help Microsoft be better able to enable customers to self-help themselves, versus having to dial a toll-free number for assistance.

Microsoft is positive in early trading Tuesday.
